End to End Medical Equipment Moving
Moving sensitive equipment requires the right team. For facilities in the Pittsburgh and Cleveland areas, Weleski Moving & Storage has been that team since 1909.
We hold a BBB A+ rating, ATA MSC ProMover certification, and serve as an authorized agent for Atlas Van Lines. That combination of credentials matters when you’re moving equipment that can’t afford a rough ride or a missed deadline.
We handle the full scope: logistics planning, interim storage, and the move itself. Read on to learn what we move, how we work, and what to expect when you bring us in.
What Our Medical Equipment Moving Services Include
Our team has moved everything from single-suite transitions to full facility relocations across Western PA and Northeast Ohio. That experience shows up in how we plan and execute each job.
Every move starts with an on-site consultation. We visit your facility, assess what needs to move, and give you an accurate estimate before anything is scheduled. No guesswork, no surprise costs.
Our fleet includes trailers and trucks purpose-built for heavy, sensitive cargo. Whether you’re moving imaging systems, treatment equipment, or large furniture like hospital beds and exam tables, we have the right vehicle and the right crew for it.
We also coordinate healthcare logistics support throughout the process. If you’re managing multiple moves across departments or locations, we keep everything tracked and on schedule.
Types of Medical Equipment We Move
Medical facilities move a wide range of equipment, and not all of it moves the same way. Our crew is trained to handle items across the full spectrum of clinical and administrative environments.
Hospital beds and patient room furniture are among the most common requests we handle. Adjustable hospital beds, overbed tables, IV poles, and related patient room fixtures require careful disassembly, protection, and reassembly at the destination. We treat these items with the same care as any high-value piece of equipment.
On the heavier end, we move imaging and diagnostic equipment, including MRI units, CT scanners, X-ray machines, and ultrasound systems. These require specialized trailers, secure loading procedures, and in some cases, coordination with the equipment manufacturer before transport.
We also handle laboratory equipment (centrifuges, analyzers, refrigeration units, and sensitive instruments), as well as surgical and treatment room equipment: exam tables, surgical lights, sterilization equipment, and procedure carts.
For administrative and support areas, we move server racks, workstations, medical records storage systems, and office furniture.
If you’re not sure whether we can handle a specific item, call us. We’ll tell you directly.

Moving a library takes far more than one would intuitively think. You’re not just packing boxes and loading a truck.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you move medical equipment across state lines?
Yes. Weleski is a licensed interstate mover and an authorized Atlas Van Lines agent, so we handle relocations across state lines just as readily as local moves. Whether you’re relocating a single piece of equipment or an entire facility to another state, we can coordinate the full move.
How do you protect sensitive equipment like MRI machines or imaging systems during transport?
We use specialized trailers and trucks built for heavy, sensitive cargo. Our crew is trained to handle equipment that requires careful disassembly, padding, and securing before it ever moves an inch. We treat your equipment the way you’d want it treated.
Can you store medical equipment if our new facility isn't ready yet?
Yes. If your timeline shifts or your new space needs more time, we offer short-term and long-term storage options, including climate-controlled facilities. Your equipment stays secure and accessible until you’re ready for delivery.
What types of moving services does your moving company provide?
What areas do you serve?
We serve the Pittsburgh and Cleveland metro areas and their surrounding communities, including all of Western Pennsylvania and Northeast Ohio. We’re also a licensed interstate mover and authorized Atlas Van Lines agent, so we handle out-of-state medical equipment relocation as well. If you’re not sure whether your location falls within our service area, give us a call.
Do you offer packing services?
Yes. We offer full and partial packing, including custom crating for fragile or irregularly shaped medical equipment. If you need specific items packed and others handled by your own staff, we can work around your plan.
How far in advance should I book my move?
For moves between May and September, book as early as possible and no less than 10 to 14 days out. Outside of peak season, five days is generally enough lead time. For larger facility relocations or moves with complex logistics, more lead time is always better.
Are my belongings protected during the move?
Yes. Weleski provides valuation coverage for all goods in our custody. Coverage is based on the weight of the shipment. If you have questions about coverage options or limits before booking, we’re happy to walk you through it.
